Story
The EPI bass guitar, or EB-S, was manufactured between 1961 and 1969. We brought our Newport Bass tribute to the table last year, but we thought another 4-string instrument would suit the Newport style very well.
Introducing the Newport Tenor! This instrument will maintain similar material specs to the originals Newports, including a mahogany body, mahogany set (glued-in) neck with rosewood fretboard. It will feature a tenor (23″) scale length, and will include a single Warren Ellis Blade pickup.
This combination of woods, pickup and construction give the Newport a distinctive rich tone, but brighter snarlier tones are possible when played down by the bridge, rather than over the pickup. The short scale and light weight makes for a very playable instrument. Whichever stringed instrument you play, you’ll feel at home on the Newport Tenor!
